Changing work hours can be difficult to keep in your head. Start by copying your employer’s confirmed rota into your own calendar. ShiftBeam helps you keep day shifts, night shifts, working hours and estimated earnings together on your iPhone.

Record the shift’s dates and times
Use Add shift from the home screen. Give the shift a useful name and check its start date, end date, times and shift type. If a night shift ends the following morning, make sure the end date is the next day. Your records appear in a colour-coded monthly calendar and can be edited when the rota changes.
Separate unpaid breaks from working time
Enter any unpaid break in minutes. Working time is the duration between the start and end, minus that break. Add an hourly rate if you want an earnings estimate. Choose your currency in Settings; changing the currency does not convert existing amounts at an exchange rate.
Review the whole month
Use the calendar to compare saved shifts and days off with your employer’s schedule. Home shows upcoming shifts, working hours and estimated earnings. Totals include future planned shifts, not just work already completed. An overnight shift is counted entirely on its start date, including when it crosses into a new month.
Consider Premium for repeat schedules
Core shift entry, the calendar and hour tracking are free. Optional Premium adds shift templates, weekly repeats, advanced statistics and ad-free use. Check generated dates against your actual rota when using weekly repeats. ShiftBeam does not automatically fetch your employer’s schedule or synchronise a team calendar.
Save a backup before changing phones
Open Backup and export in Settings, create a JSON backup and confirm that the file was saved somewhere safe. There is no automatic backup to a ShiftBeam server. JSON import previews a merge with your existing records before confirmation. CSV export is useful for spreadsheets but is not a restorable backup. Exported files may include pay and notes; share them only with a person or service you choose.

Before you start
Do I need an account?
No. Your shift, pay and note records are stored on your device. The privacy policy separately explains data handling by online services such as advertising and App Store purchases.
Can nurses, security staff and other shift workers use it?
Yes, for manually planning their own work shifts and rotas. ShiftBeam is not an official employer roster, team-management service or payroll system.
Does the free plan show ads?
Google ads may appear after any required privacy choices. Premium removes ads. The current monthly and annual subscription prices are shown in the app before purchase.
What happens if I delete the app?
Local records may be lost. Save a JSON backup before deleting the app or changing phones. Importing a backup does not transfer a Premium entitlement; subscriptions are managed through your App Store account.
